Weaker Fires in Bioč, Topolovo, and Petrovići: Preparedness Remains Strong

The Head of the Directorate for Operational Affairs, Radomir Šćepanovic, reported today that there is a fire in Bioč in Podgorica, in Topolovo in Danilovgrad, and in Petrovići in Nikšić.
During a press briefing regarding the current fire situation at the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP), he mentioned that these fires are minor and that response teams remain on-site.
“Today we have seven aircraft ready for firefighting operations. Two helicopters from the Czech Republic and Serbia are combating the fire in the Danilovgrad area. I must highlight that we are still fully prepared,” stated Šćepanović.
Milan Radović, Head of the Training and Operational Activities Department, noted that a team of firefighters from Austria is currently present.
“We extended their visit for precautionary reasons… We are also very thankful to all the protection and rescue services from various municipalities, as well as to the Army of Montenegro,” Radović expressed.
He extended his gratitude to officials from different municipalities who provided assistance.
Šćepanović emphasized that the decision regarding the equipment and funding for firefighters rests with local governments.
