Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić expressed unwavering support for Novak Djokovic, despite the latter’s endorsement of the “blockades.”

“I had a conversation with Novak the night before he showed support for the blockaders. I won’t elaborate further, as he reached out to me. I’ve chosen not to comment publicly on that matter,” Vučić stated during an interview with TV Informer last night, as reported on the Informer website.

Vučić emphasized his support for Djokovic, calling him “a legend of Serbia.”

“As for my thoughts on his political stance, I’ve shared my views all evening. However, Djokovic has achieved so much for Serbia, and I will never speak negatively about him. He is free to voice his opinions against me or support my political opponents, but it’s absurd and foolish for me to criticize him,” Vučić remarked, adding that he wholeheartedly backed Djokovic in his match against Janik Siner and that he will always be there to support him.
