The Montenegrin juniors captivated audiences with their performance at the European Women’s Handball Championship for U19 players in Podgorica, and today they are set to compete against France for the fifth-place title.
The match against France is scheduled for 14:30. Meanwhile, Spain and Germany will clash in the final, and Austria will take on Denmark for the bronze medal.
The juniors have shown remarkable skill throughout the European Championship—Igor Marković’s team aims to seal their success with a fifth-place finish, but the French team stands in their path.
– We fought until the very last second in our match against Hungary. Recovering from our loss to Germany in the quarter-finals wasn’t easy, but we found the strength to showcase our true selves again. We have demonstrated that we are a true team. Honestly, this is our greatest achievement, – stated Sanja Andrijašević, a winger for the national team.
However, the work isn’t done yet.
– Another challenging match lies ahead, but as always, we will give it our all. We will stay true to our approach, fight valiantly, and pour our hearts into the game. We anticipate that the results will follow as a deserved reward, – Andrijašević asserted.
