Additionally, the statement noted that during the reception, Milatović held separate discussions with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and the presidents of Kenya, William Rutte, Ecuador’s Daniel Nobo, and Armenia’s Vahan Khachaturian.

The reception took place on the eve of the UN Conference on Financing for Development, in which President Milatović is participating today along with over 70 heads of state and government, as well as representatives from international financial institutions, civil society, and the private sector, according to the statement.

The Public Relations Office of the President of Montenegro indicated that during his address at the plenary session of the Conference, Milatović will discuss key challenges and priorities regarding sustainable development from the viewpoint of Montenegro as a small, open economy undergoing the EU accession process.

“President Milatović’s involvement in this high-level event provides a significant opportunity for Montenegro’s affirmation as a responsible and constructive partner on the international stage and within the United Nations framework, as well as showcasing the progress our country has made in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals,” the statement from the Public Relations Office of the President of Montenegro read.
