This morning, the players of Podgorica Bemax convened at the “Berax Arena” to commence their first training session, officially kicking off preparations for the upcoming season.
Thirteen players attended the initial session, including six newcomers: Lazar Radetić (2003), Dušan Mahorčić (1998), Danilo Ivanović (2003), Srđa Bulatović (2002), Petar Minić (2004), and Aleksa Bulajić (2002). The roster also comprises Danilo Lacmanović (2004), Petar Radonjić (2005), Jan Bulajić (2007), Denil Krnić (2007), Balša Globarević (2007), along with returnees Milorad Brajović (2005) and Šefćet Bećiragić (2006).
“I’m pleased we united and began our preparations. The first day went quite smoothly, and it’s clear from just the first training that we are a youthful team. A lot of hard work lies ahead, but we are eager for it, and I hope to see daily improvement. It will be challenging, yet I anticipate a good outcome while focusing on the development of these young players,” stated Miodrag Kadija, the coach of Podgorica Bemax, on the team’s website.
Traditionally, preparations will be conducted at the “Bemax Arena”…
“I believe we’ll conduct all preparations here in Podgorica, as we truly have excellent conditions. All that remains is to finalize the test match dates; we might take a short trip for four or five days to maximize our preparation matches,” added Kadija.
Next season, Podgorica Bemax will field an even younger team, with an average age of 19. The oldest player, Dušan Mahorčić (1998), indicates that the Montenegrin ABA 2 league team will face challenges with renewed vigor, aiming primarily at the growth of the players whose time is ahead.
“Currently, we have 13 players in training, with uncertainty surrounding two others, but I hope that gets resolved soon. It’s essential for us to be united from the outset, as delays can have repercussions. If any team requires foreign players, it’s Buducnost, playing in the Eurocup, and SC Derbi, competing in the Champions League; you cannot forge a quality team without them. However, for the domestic league and ABA 2 league, I am convinced this local focus is preferable, and we need to give opportunities to our local talents,” Kadija asserted firmly.
Miodrag Kadija’s coaching staff includes team manager Nikola Bulatović, assistant coaches Miloš Đurišić and Aleksa Đurišić, fitness coach Nemanja Marković, and physiotherapist Milorad Čukić.
Podgorica Bemax will kick off the new season against Borac Banja Luka in the NLB ABA 2 League on October 7th at the “Bemax Arena”.
