The organization “Eagle Hills Montenegro,” spearheaded by investor Mohamed Alabar, has announced a donation of vouchers totaling 215 thousand euros designated for four fire departments and the Podgorica Foresters’ Association.

This generous contribution comes as a response to the extensive firefighting efforts that have threatened Montenegro, during which both firefighters and citizens united to protect their communities.

“We cannot thank the firefighters enough, which is why Eagle Hills Montenegro wanted to express its respect for the bravery and dedication shown by the protection and rescue services during these challenging times,” stated the company.

The service commander, Nikola Bojanović, accepted a voucher worth 50,000 euros on behalf of the Capital City Protection and Rescue Service.

“I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the Protection and Rescue Service and all my colleagues for this generous donation. In recent days, our teamwork and readiness in combating the fires have been crucial, ultimately saving lives and protecting citizens’ property. This support will significantly enhance our preparedness for future challenges,” Bojanović remarked during the presentation.

The Žabljak Fire Department also received a donation, with Commander Drago Popović expressing his appreciation and noting that the funds will greatly assist in their ongoing operations and the acquisition of essential firefighting gear.

“The fires in Montenegro, unfortunately, resulted in a fatality. These large blazes highlighted the severity of the situation, and Eagle Hills, as a socially responsible entity, recognized this and made a substantial donation to our unit—one of the largest in our unit’s history,” Popović noted in a statement.

The Kolašin SZS is also expected to significantly bolster its capabilities. Commander Boško Šuković mentioned that the donation will be instrumental in enhancing their resources, as this unit is responsible for the Biogradska gora National Park and the Komovi Nature Park.

“These significant funds will enable us to acquire new equipment. Our team, though relatively small, excels in protecting the Kolašin municipality and both national parks. We are dedicated to safeguarding all citizens of Kolašin and visitors to northern Montenegro’s tourist areas. We extend our thanks to Eagle Hills Montenegro and Mr. Alabar, wishing him continued success,” said Šuković.

The Ulcinj rescue service employs 37 full-time firefighters and recruits an additional 13 seasonal workers during the summer. The funds received will be allocated for equipment purchases to facilitate their operations. Commander Abdulah Nimanbegu pointed out that the donation should be viewed as a collective help, as firefighters always work together in times of crisis.

“You didn’t just assist the Protection and Rescue Service of the Municipality of Ulcinj, but everyone. So, on behalf of all, we thank Eagle Hills and Mr. Alabar for this generous contribution and thoughtful gesture,” emphasized Nimanbegu.

The voucher was also awarded to the NGO Podgorica Mountaineers’ Association, represented by Nataša Jovićević, who highlighted that the funds will be used to purchase planting materials for greening the city.

“We are truly grateful that Eagle Hills Montenegro recognized the significance of our endeavors. This donation will aid in acquiring new seedlings and equipment, thereby allowing us to continue our afforestation and conservation efforts in Podgorica and beyond,” the Association stated.

The company “Eagle Hills Montenegro” extends wishes for a peaceful summer to firefighters and citizens of Montenegro, hoping for no further fires that might threaten people and nature. The donation ceremony was graced by the presence of Podgorica’s Mayor, Saša Mujović.
