Title: Jadran
Continuation of the Series: Primorac
Today (19) in Herceg Novi, the water polo teams Jadran and Primorje will compete in the third match of the final playoff series for the Montenegro champion title.
Jadran currently leads the series 2:0, as it is played in a best-of-three format. In the first match, played in front of their home fans, Jadran secured a decisive 11:5 victory, followed by a close 10:8 win in Kotor.
“The second game in Kotor was challenging and tiring; we took a significant step toward the title despite several errors. Now, for the third match, if we want to claim the title, we must elevate our game at least one notch. Primorje has demonstrated that they can provide strong resistance and are not an easy opponent. I anticipate a tough match, and I hope there will be exciting plays and high-quality water polo. Additionally, I hope many fans come out to support us,” said Jadran’s coach Petar Radanović.
Primorje’s coach Ranko Perović expressed that his team is determined to extend the series.
“Jadran is the home team and a significant favorite. In the first two games, we displayed two different sides. In the first match, Jadran deservedly won convincingly. In the second, we had some promising opportunities, and I believe there were moments where we were unjustly affected. Moving forward, we’re focused on the third match, and our goal is to win. It will be a challenge, especially playing in an open pool, which doesn’t favor us. We need to give our all and try to bridge the gap, fueled by great desire and determination,” Perović stated.
Jadran is aiming for their ninth consecutive title and the twelfth overall championship of Montenegro. Primorje previously claimed the title in 2007 and 2008.
