“Jadran Seeks Ninth Consecutive Title Victory”

For the ninth consecutive year, the Montenegrin water polo championship remains unchanged.

Jadran successfully defended its title, solidifying its status as reigning champion, while Primorac continues to play the role of challenger.

However, the season for the Kotorans was particularly tough, as they were relegated from the regional Premier League without earning a single point; thus, this outcome feels inevitable.

In the third match of the final series, much like the first, the Novljani showcased their dominance, securing a 10:4 victory in a match that captivated for only about fifteen minutes…

“The first two quarters were evenly matched, but we gained the upper hand with our rhythm and saw the match through. I am extremely pleased; the boys performed well, and I hope we can maintain this momentum and improve further,” remarked Jadran coach Petar Radanović.

The match was neck and neck until it reached 3:2, at which point the home team surged ahead to 5:2, only for the Kotorans to mount a comeback and close the gap to 5:4, albeit they squandered chances to level the score.

From that point on, they struggled to overcome Darko Đurović, who registered 16 saves.

“Darko provided a sense of security to the entire team. When the goalkeeper makes crucial saves, it boosts the team’s morale, and I must congratulate him,” added Radanović.

While there were missed opportunities, including a five-meter penalty, by the end of the third quarter, it was clear who the new-old champion was—Jadran led 9:4, ensuring there was no suspense in the final eight minutes.

“We failed to capitalize on our chances due to poor shot selection. This has been a pattern in all three matches. Đurović was exceptional, but we also contributed to his saves. The club is facing challenges at all levels, and we must fight to move forward,” commented Primorac coach Ranko Perović.

Danilo Radović scored three goals for Jadran, while Primorac’s scorers included Đorđije Stanojević, Filip Gardašević, Bojan Paunović, and Marko Mršić.

With this victory, Jadran clinched the double crown, marking their 12th national championship title.

Meanwhile, it has been 15 years since Primorac last tasted victory…
