In July’s “Catch of the Month” competition, hosted for sport fishermen along the Montenegrin coast by the “Una” company from Tivat, Predrag Đuković clinched first place with a remarkable 3.45-kilogram tabinja. This is an impressive catch, especially given that the average weight for this species is around 1 kg.

The tabinja was caught using a fishing rod, with a sardine piece as bait, at a depth of 80 meters near Petrovac. The second spot was taken by underwater fisherman Marko Bjelanović, who caught a 5-kilogram bream. He employed the “wait” technique to reel in his catch in Dobrota at a depth of about four meters.

Third place was secured by underwater angler Aleksandar Šikmanović, who hooked a hefty 30-kilogram goby. He made this catch in the Bar waters near Cape Volujica at a depth of nine meters, also utilizing the “on the hook” technique.
