The Tivat Tourist Organization (TO) has revealed an exciting lineup of events set to enhance the latter part of the summer season in Tivat throughout August and September.

These cultural, musical, and sports events cater to all age groups, reinforcing Tivat’s reputation as one of the most vibrant destinations along the Montenegrin coast, as highlighted by the local TO.

From August 21st to 24th, Tivat will host the Children’s Folklore Festival “Kolo bez granica,” gathering children from many countries across the region and beyond. The evening of August 24th will feature a concert by the renowned fado singer Mariza, followed by a performance from popular Montenegrin artist Isak Šabanović on August 25th.

“Throughout August, the cultural landscape of Tivat will be enriched with various events, including the prestigious Purgatorija and the traditional Bućarska Olympics, attracting both local and international visitors. The summer festivities carry on into September—with the Klapa Festival “Još se digod skupne naši” on September 6, the Tivat World Festival from September 12 to 14, and the grand finale of one of the world’s most prestigious sailing regattas, the Ocean Race Europe, from September 15 to 21. This significant event elevates Tivat’s international profile, bringing global visibility to the city and its coastline,” stated Nina Lakičević, the director of the Tivat Tourist Board, who expressed her satisfaction with the season and guest responses.

Currently, Tivat is hosting over 10,000 tourists, maintaining the same level as last year on this date. Notably, hotel accommodations have seen a remarkable 29 percent increase in occupancy, indicating an improvement in the quality of offerings and heightened interest in higher-category lodging. Meanwhile, a slight decline of 4 percent in private accommodation occupancy aligns with regional trends. The majority of tourists still hail from Serbia, Russia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the United Kingdom, and Germany, reaffirming Tivat’s status as a well-recognized and appealing international destination. August brings optimism, as we observe a significant improvement in accommodation capacity compared to July, with encouraging early bookings,” Lakičević emphasized.
