Journalist Senad Pećanin has accused the Belgrade publication “Informer” of designating “a new target for the physical elimination of political leaders whose reputations and public influence are viewed with concern by the President of Serbia.”
Today’s edition of that tabloid showcased the headline “Rasim, shame on you,” alleging that Rasim Ljajić, the president of the Social Democratic Party of Serbia, “refused to condemn the terrorists and blockaders who attacked the police in Novi Pazar, and insulted the ‘Serbian mother’ and Christ.”
“Oliver Ivanović has been addressed, is Rasim Ljajić next? Belgrade’s Informer, the mouthpiece for Aleksandar Vučić, has marked a new target for the physical elimination of political leaders whose reputations and influence threaten the Serbian president. Echoing the campaign that preceded Oliver Ivanović’s murder, today’s Informer front page highlights SDP president Rasim Ljajić. An investigation by the Kosovo authorities indicates that Vučić’s main associate for Kosovo, Milan Radoičić, is implicated in Ivanović’s murder; similarly, Vučić has a counterpart in Sandžak—his confidant Usame Zukorlić, leader of the party Vučić kept alive after his father’s death,” Pećanin stated on Iks.
