New Grant Program – IPA III
The Annual Action Plan for Montenegro in 2024 has approved a new grant scheme for the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation. This grant scheme has an estimated budget of approximately 1.2 million EUR and will concentrate on two key EU priorities: green transition and digital transition. It will also aim to further enhance the research and innovation ecosystem, building upon the previous scheme’s groundwork. A significant development is the plan to establish the Innovation Fund as a recipient of direct fund allocations, leading to modifications in the Action Plan to facilitate this intention. Subsequently, the formulation of the applicant’s guide will commence.
The grant scheme is designed to bolster the ongoing development of the research and innovation ecosystem in Montenegro, with a focus on fostering collaboration between the academic and business sectors. Particular emphasis will be placed on projects that advance climate change resilience, promote a circular economy, and drive technological progress. The initiative is also expected to enhance cross-sectoral mobility for young researchers and strengthen the connection between scientific outcomes and market demands. Ultimately, this scheme will aid in implementing the Smart Specialisation Strategy and fostering sustainable economic growth.
