Youth at the WC: Radanović Reveals Roster of Defending Bronze Medalists
The Montenegrin U20 water polo national team has reached Bucharest ahead of their participation in the World Championship starting Saturday.
Coach Petar Radanović has revealed the roster as the team aims to defend the bronze medal they secured two years ago in Prague.
The squad features Ilija Radović, Dragoljub Ćetković, Matija Sladović, Tim Perov, Tadija Matijašević, Marko Mršić, Lazar Vukićević, Strahinja Gojković, Srđan Janović, David Stevović, Balša Vučković, Danilo Stupar, Jovan Vujović, Neđo Baštrica, and Milan Nikaljević.
A total of 20 national teams are competing in the World Championship. Under the new format for youth categories, the top eight ranked teams will be placed in groups A and B, while the remaining teams will be divided into groups consisting of three teams each (C, D, E, and F).
Montenegro has been placed in group A alongside Spain, Croatia, and Italy. Group B features Greece, Serbia, the USA, and Hungary.
Group C includes Canada, Japan, and South Africa, while Brazil, China, and Kazakhstan make up Group D.
Group E is formed by New Zealand, Peru, and Romania, and Group F comprises Iran, Australia, and Argentina.
The top two teams from groups A and B will move directly to the quarterfinals.
The teams finishing third and fourth in groups A and B will face off against teams from groups C, D, E, and F in a bid to reach the top eight.
On Saturday, Montenegro will face Spain at 12:30 PM, followed by a match against Croatia on Sunday at 2:00 PM, and a match with Italy on Monday at 4:00 PM.
