Crystal Palace Expects Europa League Decision by End of June

Crystal Palace Football Club must wait until the end of the month to learn whether they will be eligible to compete in the Europa League during the 2025/2026 season.

On Tuesday, the club’s management traveled to Switzerland to discuss their participation in the tournament with officials from the European Football Union (Uefa).

While a decision was initially anticipated next week, the BBC has reported that any conclusions will not be forthcoming until the end of June.

Uefa has strict regulations preventing clubs owned by the same entity from entering the same competition to avoid potential conflicts of interest.

John Textor’s Eagle Football Group holds a minority stake in Crystal Palace and is the majority owner of Lyon, which has also secured a spot in next season’s Europa League.

The writer controls approximately 45 percent of Crystal Palace and 90 percent of Lyon.

The London club asserts that Textor, who has persistently sought to divest his stake, does not exercise decisive control over the team.

Crystal Palace secured their Europa League spot by winning the FA Cup.

Lyon initially qualified for the Conference League, but after Paris Saint-Germain, who had already secured Champions League qualification, won the Coupe de la Ligue, they were relegated.
