I’m pleased with the strategy; let’s keep moving forward.
The senior water polo squad from Montenegro secured a victory tonight in Herceg Novi, defeating the German team with a score of 12:5 (4:1, 5:1, 0:1, 3:2) during a friendly match.
This match was part of their preparations for the upcoming World Cup in Japan.
In a dominant performance by the Montenegrin water polo players, Bogdan Đurđić stood out as the top scorer with four goals. Savo Ćetković added three goals, while Stefan Vidović contributed two. Vasilije Radović and Vladan Spaić each chipped in with one goal.
Head coach Vladimir Gojković expressed his satisfaction with both the win and the team’s performance in the first two quarters.
“The first two quarters were strong, but the intensity waned in the third. They missed two five-meter shots. Overall, I’m content with our approach. We’ll analyze the game and keep training. The aggressive defense was beneficial for the goalkeepers,” stated Gojković.
The Montenegrin national team will continue training in Herceg Novi until June 16, move to Trebinje from the 19th to the 27th for further practice, and play three matches prior to their trip to Japan. They will face France in Herceg Novi on the 27th and 30th, followed by a match against Croatia on June 29.
The World Championship is set to take place from July 17 to 29 in Fukuoka.
