The iconic Charles Barkley has a new addition to his All-Star team – Nikola Jokić will be joining him.
This year’s All-Star Game will take place in San Francisco, introducing a four-team format for the first time.
The usual East vs. West matchup will be replaced by a four-team tournament featuring Team Shaquille O’Neal, Team Kenny Smith, Team Charles Barkley, and the champion of the “Rising Stars” game – Team Candice.
The semi-finals are set for February 16th, with the final also happening that evening. The winning team in each match is the one that first scores 40 points.
Alongside Jokić, who will make his eighth All-Star appearance, Charles Barkley’s team will also include Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee), Shay Gilges-Alexander (Oklahoma), Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio), Pascal Siakam (Indiana), Alperen Shengun (Houston), Karl-Anthony Towns (New York), and Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland).
The first pick for the All-Star Game was none other than LeBron James (40) from the LA Lakers, with the draft conducted on TNT.
James, who holds the record for the most All-Star appearances (21), has been selected for Shaquille O’Neal’s team, having played alongside him in Cleveland during the 2009/10 season.
Team Shaquille O’Neal includes: LeBron James (LA Lakers), Steph Curry (Golden State), Anthony Davis (Dallas), Jayson Tatum (Boston), Kevin Durant (Phoenix), Damian Lillard (Milwaukee), James Harden (LA Clippers), and Jaylen Brown (Boston).
Team Kenny Smith features: Anthony Edwards (Minnesota), Jaylen Brunson (New York), Jaren Jackson Jr. (Memphis), Jaylen Williams (Oklahoma), Darius Garland (Cleveland), Evan Mobley (Cleveland), Cade Cunningham (Detroit), and Tyler Herro (Miami).
