Prime Minister Milojko Spajić has been appointed to lead the National Commission for UNESCO, as announced by his cabinet.

During the Government’s session today, it was decided that Spajić will oversee the Commission, which is tasked with ensuring that parts of our cultural heritage maintain their UNESCO status over the next six months.

“Kotor, the Kotor Fortress, Durmitor National Park, and the stećci in Žabljak and Plužine will continue to be recognized as part of the world’s most treasured natural and cultural-historical heritage,” Spajić stated in a social media post.

“The UNESCO status of these locations is not up for debate. They represent our identity and offer significant development opportunities. I am taking on the chairmanship of the National Commission for UNESCO, and alongside experts, we will strive to ensure that our country’s unique values remain preserved and acknowledged globally,” he added.
