Ronaldo Will Miss the Club World Cup

Cristiano Ronaldo, the renowned Portuguese footballer, announced today that he will not participate in the Club World Cup in the United States, having turned down offers from several participating teams.

Ronaldo’s current contract with Al-Nasr concludes at the end of June, and the Club World Cup, which Al-Nasr did not qualify for, is scheduled to occur from June 14 to July 13 in the USA.

“I will not be at the Club World Cup. Some teams reached out to me. Some options were sensible, others not so much, but one cannot attempt to do everything. You can’t seize every opportunity,” Ronaldo stated, according to the BBC.

Following Al-Nasr’s last league match in May, Ronaldo mentioned on social media that “a chapter is over,” leading to speculation regarding his potential move to a new club.

A source from the BBC reported that Al-Nasr management believes that the captain of the Portuguese national team will renew his contract.

Before Portugal’s upcoming Nations League final against Spain tomorrow, Ronaldo remarked that a decision about his future is “almost finalized.” He netted the decisive goal in a 2-1 victory against Germany during the Nations League semi-final on Wednesday.

He joined Al-Nasr in 2023 after terminating his contract with Manchester United, having played 111 matches for the Saudi club and scored 99 goals.
