Lithuania Dominates Azerbaijan; Montenegrin Women Just One Point Away from Nations League B

The Montenegrin women’s national football team needs to secure at least a point in the final round to advance to the B Nations League.

This became clear following Lithuania’s impressive victory over Azerbaijan (5:0) earlier tonight, just prior to the matchup against our national squad, scheduled for Tuesday at 19:00.

Initially, the Azerbaijani team was favored in this match, but the spotlight was exclusively on the visitors, who triumphed with goals from Jonusaite (two), Griksaite, Lazdauskaite, and Romanovskaya.

As we approach the final round of Group 4 in Nations League C, Montenegro sits at five points, matching Azerbaijan, while Lithuania has earned three points.

Both Montenegro and Lithuania have one match less, setting the stage for a decisive encounter on Tuesday to determine who moves up to the higher tier.

Earlier this year, Montenegro handily beat Lithuania with a score of 25:3 on February 1st in Podgorica.
