The Budućnost Bemax handball team continues its journey in the EHF Champions League with a match against ĆSM Bucharest.
In the previous stage of the competition, the “Blues” secured one win and one draw, alongside six losses. Their primary rivals, Brest and Debrecen, have one additional point each in the race for the round of 16.
Playing at home, ĆSM holds the advantage, having previously triumphed over Budućnost with a score of 29:24 in Podgorica at the end of October. Furthermore, Budućnost is traveling to Romania with a weakened squad.
Adriana Cardoso de Castro suffered a knee injury during her last training session and is expected to be sidelined for three months, effectively ending her season.
“The injury of the Brazilian international is a significant blow to Bojana Popović’s team, which aims to secure a spot in the EHF Champions League round of 16 during the final six rounds of the group stage,” the club from Podgorica stated.
Additionally, there have been complications with luggage during their travel to Bucharest.
“Jeleni Vukčević and Nađi Kadović have not yet retrieved their bags, raising doubts about their availability for the match,” read the announcement.
The match is set to take place on Sunday at 4 p.m.
