Another water polo legend has been defeated by Montenegrin cadets—Nenad Vukanić’s team will compete in the European Championship final in Podgorica after a thrilling 15:13 victory over Greece (11:11 in regular time).

Our U15 team has secured a medal, and there’s confidence that they can emerge as champions based on their impressive performance throughout the tournament, where they outplayed Hungary, Italy, Spain, Turkey, and Greece.

The final will see them face Hungary (Sunday at 20:30), who triumphed over Serbia with ease, winning 6:XNUMX in the second semi-final.

In the opening minutes of tonight’s match, it appeared that the Greeks were proving to be a significant challenge for Montenegro.

Greece led 3:0, followed by 4:1, and at the end of the second quarter, they were ahead 6:2, before Vukanić’s team rallied to excite the supporters at the SC “Morača” open pool stands.

The comeback was remarkable—they kicked off the third quarter with a 5:0 run to establish a 7:6 lead and extended their advantage to two goals (8:6) at the start of the final period, maintaining that lead on two more occasions (9:7, 10:8).

It felt like a spot in the final was in the bag during regular time, especially with Marko Pejović in great form in goal (notably stopping a critical penalty when leading 8:7), but Greece managed to hold on and forced penalties.

Ultimately, they only delayed the moment of victory for a few minutes—Stefan Kruta sealed the triumph.

Stefan Vraneš was the top scorer for our team, netting three goals. In addition to him, goals came from Andrej Durutović, Danilo Roganović, Kruta, while Luka Todorović unfortunately missed his chance.

Pejović made a crucial save against Dimitrios Saros during the first penalty round, and Ilias Angelopoulos failed to capitalize in the second.
