Montenegro aims to finalize seven chapters in its European Union (EU) negotiations by the year’s end, stated Parliament Speaker Andrija Mandić.
He met with Marjan Šarec, the European Parliament’s standing rapporteur for Montenegro, in Ljubljana today.
“During an exceptional afternoon spent with dear friends, we discussed the progress of our nation on the path to EU integration and the important role of Parliament in this process,” Mandić posted on the X platform.
Mandić noted that they particularly highlighted the positive momentum that the Montenegrin parliament has experienced in recent months.
“We expect to conclude seven negotiation chapters by the end of the year, marking a significant milestone for Montenegro,” Mandić added.
He mentioned that Deputy Prime Minister Budimir Aleksić, Minister of Spatial Planning, Urban Development, and State Property Slaven Radunović, alongside MP Dejan Đurović, emphasized the Government’s and parliamentary majority’s commitment to full EU membership, focusing on improving the living standards of all citizens through major infrastructure initiatives like Velje Brdo, a new highway section, and more.
“We are united in our efforts for Montenegro’s future,” Mandić concluded.
