Two residents of Nikšić, identified as AD (25) and PV (23), were apprehended in the Trebjesa forest park for marijuana consumption, according to the Police Directorate.

Officers reportedly confiscated the drugs from the location and took statements from AD and PV at the Security Department (SB) in Nikšić.

According to authorities, at the request of the acting prosecutor from the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Nikšić, PV was arrested on suspicion of enabling the consumption of narcotics by AD. Charges will be filed against him.

“AD was also taken into custody for violating Article 52 of the Law on the Prevention of Drug Abuse, and a request for misdemeanor proceedings has been submitted to the appropriate court,” the statement reads.

The Police Directorate indicated that officers from the Nikšić Police Department filed 14 misdemeanor charges under the Drug Abuse Prevention Law and arrested 12 individuals between April and early June this year.
