Two Drivers Arrested for DUI, Young Man Cited for Speeding in Busy Area

Traffic police officers from the Regional Security Center “South” have resumed local operations to intensify control over traffic participants in Bar. During this effort, they issued sanctions to 54 individuals, according to the Police Directorate.
Highlighting the prevention of severe traffic accidents, the officers from the Bar Security Department executed a local control operation that focused on radar speed checks. This included monitoring sections of road previously identified as high-risk due to frequent accidents and excessive speeding, as stated in the announcement.
In less than 43 hours, 24 drivers were penalized for exceeding speed limits.
Of these, 40 misdemeanor warrants were issued, three requests for initiating misdemeanor proceedings were filed, and one person was arrested: a young driver, ML (20), caught driving at 109 kilometers per hour in a populated area where the limit is 50 kilometers per hour.
Driver DR (28) from Bar was apprehended for driving under the influence, registering a blood alcohol content of 1.19 per mille. Ukrainian citizen IG (44) was also caught driving with a blood alcohol level of 1.55 per mille.
Additionally, nine other individuals were sanctioned for various violations of the Road Traffic Safety Act.
“The Regional Security Center ‘South’ will persist with its enforcement strategies, focusing on areas with high traffic accident rates, particularly during peak times of domestic and foreign tourist activity, to safeguard citizens and reduce the incidence of severe traffic accidents,” the statement cautioned.
