Employees at Port of Adria Launch Strike

Some employees of the Port of Adria Bar company will begin striking on Thursday, January 9th.

“This action comes in response to the employer’s failure to comply with wage obligations, as well as the refusal to engage in negotiations regarding the preparation of a Collective Agreement. Starting Thursday, a portion of the employees will join the strike,” stated the Union of Free Trade Unions in a message shared with the media.

The demands of the striking workers include a 15 percent increase in wages, the establishment of a collective agreement with the employer, and compensation for employees who participate in the strike.

“Given the challenging situation that employees are facing, which has led them to initiate this strike, the trade union organization at the Port of Adria has also emphasized the importance of maritime and labor, employment, and social dialogue,” the statement concluded.
