Koković Unveils Expanded List for Zonal Qualifications at January’s EP Pioneers Event

The women’s U16 volleyball team from Montenegro is set to compete in the opening round of Zonal Qualifications for the European Championship, scheduled to take place from January 15 to 19 in Sofia. The head coach of the Montenegro women’s U16 national team, Petar Koković, has revealed an extended roster of 25 players.

Alongside Montenegro and the host nation Bulgaria, teams from Turkey, Serbia, Greece, and Romania will also take part in the tournament.

“The first qualification round occurs within zonal associations, with the tournament winner securing a direct entry into the European Championship. The remaining five national teams will advance to the second qualification round, which is set for April 24 to 27. In this subsequent round, a total of 11 teams will earn a spot in the European Championship—this includes the top two teams from each of the five groups and the best third-placed team,” explained the Association.

The European Championship for female U16 volleyball players (born in 2010 or later) is slated to happen from July 2 to 13, 2025, across Tirana (Albania) and Pristina (Kosovo), featuring the 16 premier national teams from Europe.

setters: Elena Jovanović (Future Volley), Mia Pođanin (Net), Sara Striković (Galeb), Milica Pavlović (Top Volley), Jana Mrdak (Budva), Bojana Lalatović (Tempo), Jelena Ćorović (High School), Đina Lekić (Libero CT), Jana Šćekić (Budućnost Volley), Jelena Mirović (Gorštak).

hitters: Klara Đukić (Budućnost Volley), Minja Mišević (Galeb), Sara Zec (Budva);

middle blockers: Sofija Duletić (Budva), Bojana Krasnići (Budva), Selma Muratović (Luka Bar), Jelena Glušac (Albatros);
