The President of Republika Srpska (RS), Milorad Dodik, declared today in Banja Luka that RS fully supports a legitimate, democratic, strong, and united Serbia, under the leadership of Aleksandar Vučić.
“The strength of Republika Srpska is embodied not only in its institutions but also through Serbia. Thus, we wish for its strength to ensure we have a safe haven, a homeland of our own. I oppose anyone who advocates for destabilizing either Serbia or the Serbian people,” Dodik remarked to reporters in Drakulić, a village near Banja Luka.
He remarked that the recent collapse of the canopy at the Novi Sad Railway Station is being “exploited to create unrest and instability in Serbia,” particularly at a time when stability and strength are critical.
“Currently, we require a strong president and a resolute Serbian government to effectively advocate for the interests of Serbs amid this global chaos, yet we are undermining both the president and the administration in Serbia,” Dodik stated.
According to him, it is vital for the Serbian populace to understand their desires, especially in today’s world rife with turmoil and uncertainty.
“We must steadfastly hold onto Kosovo and Metohija; we cannot permit the acknowledgment of this false satellite state. We will no longer tolerate it being framed as a problem, nor will we accept attempts to push RS into a so-called unitary or civil Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Dodik emphasized.
He assured that the RS government will strive to maintain stability and peace within the entity, underscoring that RS looks to Serbia with the expectation of contributing to it as much as possible as a united entity.
Dodik announced that RS and Serbia plan to celebrate Sretenje together soon, a joint holiday reflecting the statehood of both Serbia and RS as outlined in the Declaration of the All-Serbian Parliament.
He further noted that US President Donald Trump’s decision to suspend aid to non-governmental organizations serves as a signal for RS to enact its legislation regarding these organizations, which have historically received foreign funds to malign Serbs and RS.
Dodik stated that these non-governmental organizations will no longer be permitted to conduct such activities, citing a forthcoming law that will be stricter than previous proposals submitted for parliamentary review.
“This will proceed even at the potential cost of our European aspirations. We are not swayed by the EU’s stance on this matter. If it interrupts our route to the EU, so be it. We will not be dictated to on our actions here,” Dodik asserted.
He also warned that if High Representative Christian Schmidt attempts to alter the BiH Constitution regarding the number of Serb delegates necessary for a quorum in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, he will “encounter a decisive response from RS that many will understand” on the very same day.
“I see that some in RS desire to amend the Constitution to state that a quorum in the House of Peoples is not three delegates, but two, and they expect Schmidt to implement this change. Should he do so, he will receive our response immediately that many around the world will comprehend,” Dodik emphasized.
Once again, he labeled the opposition in RS as “national traitors,” asserting that “if they perceive themselves as saviors of BiH, then they are indeed the gravediggers of RS.”
