A significant fire has been raging in the village of Duži, located in the Šavnik municipality, since yesterday. Due to the difficult terrain, firefighters from Šavnik will be supported by an aerial unit.

“The blaze above the canyon has been ongoing since yesterday. Our firefighters are actively ‘protecting’ the structures in the area that are under threat. An aircraft will also assist us in extinguishing the fire, and we are hopeful about controlling it by tonight,” stated Goran Janković, commander of the Šavnica fire and rescue unit, in an interview with “Vijesti”.
