The third team to reach the semifinals of the Montenegrin Basketball Cup is Mornar, who edged out Podgorica with a score of 82:81 in a thrilling match held in Bijelo Polje tonight.

Podgorica was in a position to win but Pavle Đurišić’s three-point attempt fell short.

Led by Marko Sekulić, Podgorica had a significant 11-point advantage in the first half, leading at 19:8 and 32:21. However, Mornar clawed their way back, largely thanks to Pember’s three-pointer, and completed a 10:0 run to even the score at 37:37. They went into halftime with a five-point lead at 44:39.

The remainder of the game was tightly contested, with both teams exchanging leads throughout the third quarter, which ended at 60:60.

Midway through the fourth quarter, following a point by Balša Živanović, Podgorica was leading by seven points at 71:64. Mornar, fueled by the efforts of Novak Peković and Srđan Bulatović, managed to tie the game (74:74) after a three-pointer by Peković, then took a four-point lead at 78:74.

After more points from Pember, Mornar entered the final minute with a five-point edge at 82:77. Podgorica narrowed it down to 82:81 through Živanović but missed an opportunity to win when Đurišić’s shot was off target.

Pember was the standout player for Mornar, scoring 25 points, while Tomason contributed 15 points, and Peković added 12.

For Podgorica, Žižić topped the scoring with 14 points, with Żivanović (13), Đurišić (13), and Smit (11) also reaching double digits.

Mornar is set to face Buducnost Voli in the semifinals.
