Kosovo Citizen Detained at Sukobin for Marijuana; Vehicle with Interpol Warrant Seized at the Same Crossing

At the Sukobin border crossing with Albania, authorities intercepted an Audi bearing Italian license plates that was listed on an Interpol wanted list, driven by ES (36), an Albanian national.
“Officers at the Border Police Station in Ulcinj conducted a facial recognition check on ES (36) as they entered Montenegro. They discovered that he was driving an Audi Q5 registered to an Italian company. The border inspection revealed an active international arrest warrant issued by the Italian Interpol NCB for the vehicle in question,” the Police Directorate reported.
The vehicle has been temporarily seized and is now in the custody of the Ulcinj Security Department for further investigation.
Additionally, at the same border crossing, a citizen of Kosovo, BB (24), was taken into custody after approximately 60 grams of methamphetamine were discovered in his vehicle.
“A search of the car, conducted with the help of a narcotics detection dog, uncovered a PVC bag containing a green substance resembling marijuana, weighing about 60 grams. BB has been detained at the request of the prosecutor from the Higher State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica, on suspicion of unauthorized production, possession, and distribution of narcotics,” the statement elaborated.
