Richard Grenell, who serves as the US President Donald Trump’s envoy for special missions, has accused Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti of misleading the citizens of Kosovo regarding his proximity to the US, asserting that the entire international community stands against him.

In a statement on the X platform just days before the parliamentary elections in Kosovo, Grenell mentioned that the Trump administration has been and will continue to strive for peace throughout the Balkans.

“However, we require trustworthy partners. Kurti’s government lacked credibility during Trump’s tenure and continues to do so under Biden’s administration. Both Republicans and Democrats have repeatedly criticized Kurti for his unilateral actions that jeopardize regional stability. This sentiment is echoed by the EU and NATO. The international community is in solidarity against Kurti,” Grenell stated.

He further added, “While American companies are expanding in Albania and Serbia, they are refraining from growing in Kosovo because of Kurti.”

“Throughout history, Kurti has opposed every American initiative proposed by Presidents Clinton, Bush, Obama, Biden, and Trump. The claims he is making now, asserting a close relationship with the US and superiority over previous Kosovo administrations, are completely untrue. Don’t be misled,” Grenell concluded.
