Liverpool celebrated a long-awaited title parade after 35 years, but the joy quickly turned to horror…
A vehicle drove into a crowd on one of the streets, injuring several individuals, before some fans were able to intervene and stop the driver.
While the exact number of injured remains unknown, authorities confirmed that the driver has been apprehended.
Witness Natasha Rinaldi recounted her experience, stating she was viewing the parade from a friend’s window when they were startled by “screams.”
“It was deafening. People sounded frantic. We looked outside and saw a car running over people,” she told Sky News.
She further stated, “Then people began chasing the driver, trying to smash the car.”
The Prime Minister of Great Britain issued a statement regarding the incident.
“The scenes in Liverpool are appalling—my thoughts are with all those impacted. I extend my gratitude to the police and emergency services for their quick response to this shocking event. They are keeping me updated on the situation, and I ask that we allow them the necessary space to conduct their investigation,” said Keir Starmer.
