On orders from the Special State Prosecutor’s Office (SDT), the Special Police Department (SPO) apprehended Prokopije Perić, the former long-standing executive director of “Rokšped”.

In this morning’s operation, Dejan Milić from Podgorica was also taken into custody.

Additionally, Radoje Dakić, Mileta Simanić, and Adnan Suković were arrested.

Simanić was previously apprehended last year during an operation targeting the Grand team, which was linked to organizer Aleksandar Mijajlović.

This morning, based on directives from the SDT, SPO officers conducted a search of the Stanaj family’s villa complex, the owners of “Rokšped”, located at the Old Airport in Podgorica, as reported by “Vijesti”.

During this operation, multiple arrests were made for the creation of a criminal organization and cigarette smuggling.

Searches are currently being conducted at various properties owned by Stanaj.

This operation includes ongoing searches across several locations in Montenegro related to the establishment of a criminal organization and the smuggling of cigarettes.

Since late December last year, the SDT and SPO have detained dozens of individuals in various cases, including owners of major Montenegrin firms like “Tehnomaks” and “Agrarija”, suspected of being key operatives in the cigarette smuggling network originating from the Port of Bar.

Ivan Turčinović Turns Himself In, Predrag Madžgalj Arrested

Later in the day, Ivan Turčinović, a Podgorica resident, voluntarily surrendered to the Special Police Department. He is under investigation by the Special State Prosecutor’s Office for involvement in a criminal group connected to cigarette smuggling.

He was not present during the morning search of his residence but returned from a business trip abroad in the afternoon to inform the police.

That afternoon, Predrag Madžgalj, owner of the “MP Šped Trans” company, known for road freight transport, was also apprehended.

Four years ago, 585 cartons of smuggled cigarettes were confiscated from a truck belonging to Madžgalj’s business in Sarajevo.

The customs authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina stated that the unlawfully imported tobacco was intended for the illegal market of the European Union.
