Milorad Peković Extends Partnership with German Second Division Team
Milorad Peković, a former player for the Montenegrin national team and clubs such as OFK Belgrade, Partizan, Mainz, and Greuther Furth, is set to join the bench of the German second division team for the upcoming season.
Last season, Peković celebrated a Montenegrin championship title with Dečić Admiralbet. He will co-manage Greuther alongside Thomas Klein, with both sharing the head coach title. They stepped in during early May after Jan Sievert was dismissed due to unsatisfactory results.
Initially, Peković and Klein were brought on to finish the season, but their performance evidently impressed the club’s management, resulting in a long-term contract offer.
The former head coach of Podgorica and Dečić will conduct the roll call for the new season in a month, specifically on June 25th. The primary objective for him and Klein will be to elevate the team’s performance to ensure that survival in the league remains a certainty this time around.
Greuther Furth found themselves trailing Eintracht Braunschweig in the standings with only two rounds remaining in the championship. However, they managed to evade the relegation play-off with a crucial draw against Hannover (1:1) and a win over Hamburger (3:2).
