There is no reason to believe that anyone other than Martinović played a role in the tragic incident in Cetinje.
The Higher State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica has concluded that there are no grounds for suspicion or any indication that anyone else contributed to the tragic incident in Cetinje on January 1, when Aco Martinović took the lives of 13 individuals before committing suicide.
This decision was made following an inquiry initiated regarding the tragic event.
Furthermore, it was established that there are no grounds for pursuing criminal charges against Martinović, as he took his own life after the act of killing 13 individuals across five separate locations.
“In the case handled by the Higher State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica, related to the January 1, 2025 incident in Cetinje, where thirteen individuals, including two children, lost their lives, the investigation revealed that these individuals were shot and killed by the person AM, who subsequently turned the firearm upon himself in an act of suicide. After extensive investigatory actions aimed at fully clarifying the circumstances of the incident, it was determined that there are no grounds to initiate any criminal proceedings against AM, who was responsible for the loss of thirteen lives in Cetinje. Additionally, the gathered evidence indicated that there is no suspicion or evidence suggesting that any other individual played a role in this tragic event,” the statement reads.
