The individual operating a vehicle that rammed into a crowd during Liverpool’s championship parade on Monday was found to be under the influence of both alcohol and drugs, according to British police reports today.

A 53-year-old man hailing from the greater Liverpool area has been taken into custody on charges of attempted murder, dangerous driving, and driving while impaired by drugs.

Authorities confirmed that the event is not being classified as a terrorist act.

The incident resulted in 65 injuries, including four children, with 11 individuals requiring hospitalization. All are reported to be in stable condition.

“An additional 11 individuals remain hospitalized, all stable, and I’m happy to report they are recovering well,” stated Deputy Chief Constable Jenny Sims, according to Sky Sports.

Sims commended the prompt action of emergency responders who arrived on the scene within moments and acted courageously in a perilous situation.

“An extensive inquiry into the precise circumstances surrounding the incident is currently underway, and we urge the public to refrain from speculation or sharing unsettling footage and materials online,” Sims emphasized.

As per police reports, at the time of the incident, the suspect was trailing an ambulance responding to a call about an individual experiencing a heart attack.
