Darko Prebiracevic: Kosovo’s Volleyball Coach
Darko Prebiracevic, a coach from Montenegro, has been appointed as the new head coach of the Kosovo men’s volleyball team.
Previously the coach of Qatar Sports and the former head coach at Jedinstvo, he has inked a one-year contract with the Volleyball Federation of Kosovo. He succeeds Slovak Martin Nemec, the first foreign coach in the history of Kosovo’s national volleyball team. In addition to leading the senior team, Prebiracevic will play a vital role in developing the youth national teams through a project supported by FIVB, aimed at enhancing the quality of volleyball across Kosovo.
During his time at Jedinstvo, Prebiracevic secured two double crowns in the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons, and significantly advanced the Qatar Sports team, reaching the semi-finals of the Emir Cup and finishing fourth in the local league.
The 45-year-old coach from Bjelopolje also managed the Montenegrin U20 national team and the U17 team that participated in the 2023 European Championship in Podgorica. Additionally, he served as an assistant coach to Veljko Bašić and Ivan Joksimović for Montenegro’s senior men’s national team.
