The Buducnost handball team is determined not to let the opportunity to reach the Champions League round of 16 slip away.
Mark your calendars for the pivotal match against Rapid in “Morača” on February 23rd; however, the Podgorica squad has two more fixtures to tackle before then.
Next up is a home clash with Odense on Saturday at 16:00, and a victory would significantly bolster Bojana Popović’s team’s pursuit of their ultimate goal. Before taking on the Romanians, our champions also face an away game against Brest.
“We have a chance to qualify for the round of 16, and we aim to seize it. Odense boasts the strongest attack in the Champions League, so we need to fortify our defense. Additionally, we must minimize technical errors in attack, which were abundant against Đero,” remarked Jelena Radivojević.
In their first encounter this season, Odense triumphed 31:29.
“We played well in Denmark; that loss was truly disappointing,” Jelena added.
Armel Atingre expressed that a significant match awaits the Podgorica team.
“Odense is a strong outfit, featuring both Norwegian and Danish players. Nevertheless, we are in good form and ready for this match. We were close to securing a win against them in the first match,” asserted the Montenegrin national team player.
As previously mentioned, Saturday’s game will also have a charitable aspect, aimed at assisting in the treatment of Mia Popović, a student from “Dragiša Ivanović” Elementary School in Podgorica, who is facing a serious illness involving a malignant pelvic bone tumor.
