Paunović Reviews BIA Notes and Assembles Evidence for Submission to the Prosecutor’s Office
“The recent session of the Inquiry Committee, where longtime Police Department employee Milan Paunović ‘dramatically assumed the role of the victim,’ marks yet another public spectacle aimed at vilifying the previous government,” stated the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS).
“During the Committee’s last meeting, it became evident that the proposal to hear Paunović, put forth unexpectedly by Co-Chair Milan Knežević, was scripted by Knežević’s political benefactors. The incoherent narrative was merely what Paunović had to recite today, doing so with visible unease,” the DPS claims.
“The reality that Paunović is echoing notes crafted by the BIA, positioning himself as a tool for directives coming from foreign intelligence agencies that have inflicted harm in the region for decades, is something the Democratic Party of Socialists finds particularly concerning. The BIA has engaged in similar theatrics in the past. However, we will not permit these performances, based on falsehoods and barroom tales, to escape without judicial consequences,” they stated.
They urged Paunović to “provide this Prosecutor’s Office, influenced by the parliamentary majority, with all relevant information and evidence related to the cases he cites. Failure to do so will result in criminal charges against him for the falsehoods he has presented to the public today,” the statement concluded.
