“They Fund My Pension Despite My Lack of Employment”: A Singer Uncovers the Truth About His Earnings and Takes the Stage
Singer Edo Abdović, known for songs like “Strange Woman Was Faith” and “I Will Still Write to You,” reveals that he receives compensation from Montenegro despite never being officially employed.
According to Edo, he began earning money even as a child, and the income he received was considerable for his age.
– Montenegro pays me a pension even though I was never officially employed. After a long hiatus, I’ve returned to Belgrade, where I lived for about 15-16 years. This is my comeback with new songs and fresh energy – the singer explained, detailing his perspective on today’s performance scene:
– There have been many changes on stage. Now there are numerous singers and artists, it’s quite crowded, as they say.
– But you know, I enjoy listening to them. Thank God for them; they truly deserve their spot in the industry and know how to do their job well.
– I completed my Lower and Middle Music education in Podgorica, where I am originally from. I trained for music and started working at a very young age.
Most of my early gigs were in cafes, performing Sevdalinka. I also witnessed the rise of modern waves in music, inspired by artists like Toma Zdravković and Muharem Serbezovski, who I listened to as a boy. They were significant figures then, and continue to be great names in the industry today.
