Montenegrin water polo players at the EP in Turkey

Montenegrin Water Polo Team at the European Championship in Turkey

From August 8 to 14, Manisa, Turkey will host the European Water Polo Championship for athletes under 17, featuring the Montenegrin national team.

Under the guidance of coach Miodrag Mirović, Montenegrin water polo will be represented by Danilo Rajević, Pavle Jovanović, Tadija Matijašević, Tim Perov, Đorđe Pejović, Aleksandar Vavić, Nikola Petrović, Ljubomir Kovačić, Strahinja Gojković, Radivoj Radanović, Srđan Janović, Ivan Marković, Danilo Stupar, Relja Vukanić, and Ognjen Moračanin.

Montenegro will compete in Group A alongside Hungary, Spain, and Croatia.

On the opening day of the championship, they will face Hungary at 18:30, followed by a match against Croatia the next day at 12:30, and a game against Spain on Thursday at 18:30.

Group B includes Serbia, Greece, Italy, and the Netherlands; Group C features France, Romania, Poland, and Turkey; while Group D consists of Malta, Germany, Georgia, and Ukraine.

With the new competition format for younger categories, the best eight teams will compete in Groups A and B, with the top two from each group advancing to the quarterfinals.

The teams finishing third in Groups A and B will compete against the second-placed teams from Groups C and D, while the group winners of C and D will face the fourth-placed teams from A and B for a chance to enter the top eight.

Alongside Mirović, the coaching staff of the Montenegrin team includes assistant coaches Filip Andrić and Ekaterina Miljević, video analyst Vasko Vučković, and doctor Vasko Roganović.
