Kosovo Citizen Arrested for Alleged Grocery Theft and Knife Assault

Herceg Novi police have apprehended a citizen of Kosovo, AG, who is suspected of committing a stabbing and fleeing after a robbery, as announced today by the Police Directorate (UP).
The statement explains that the Duty Service of the Herceg Novi Security Department received a report that yesterday, around 8:30 AM, an unknown individual stole groceries from the cash register of a supermarket in Baošići and subsequently fled the scene.
“During the incident, AG inflicted a knife injury on the inner side of the left thigh of the victim while attempting to escape. AG then fled along the main road, entering a vehicle driven by an accomplice, ordering them to drive away. He eventually exited the vehicle in Bijela and continued on foot,” the statement elaborated.
Upon being informed of the incident, the UP implemented a blockade of the immediate and surrounding areas of the scene, as well as other necessary measures to resolve the situation and apprehend the suspect.
“Members of the criminal police quickly located him near a catering facility. During the search, a knife, cash, and personal documents were recovered, allowing for the identification of the individual. The victim received medical assistance at the General Hospital in Meljine,” reported the UP.
The state prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica was notified of the incident, leading to AG’s arrest on suspicion of the crime of robbery.
