Volleyball Players Gear Up for Crucial Qualifier Matches
The Montenegrin women’s senior volleyball team has convened in Kolašin to kick off their preparations for the upcoming qualification rounds for the 2026 European Championship.
Following a brief hiatus after their participation in the Golden League, our volleyball players have settled into the “Bjanka” hotel, where they will train at SC “Kolašin,” serving as the team’s new training base ahead of the critical matches in the second qualification round.
Ksenija Božović, the director of the women’s national team of the Armed Forces of Montenegro, warmly welcomed our top volleyball athletes at the gathering.
The senior women’s team has two matches lined up in August—first, an away game against Bosnia and Herzegovina on August 6th in Goražde, followed by a home match against Latvia on August 10th at SC “Kolašin,” set to kick off at 19:00.
Head Coach Jovo Caković has called up 20 volleyball players for the training camp.
The roster features the following positions: Technicians – Marija Šušić, Viktoria Đukić, Tijana Tvrdišić;
Service Receivers – Danijela Džaković, Simona Petranović, Nevena Vukčević, Teodora Čavić, Gordana Madžgalj, Darja Popović;
Proofreaders – Nikoleta Perović, Kristina Božović, Anastasija Koprivica;
Middle Blockers – Saška Đurović, Mina Dragović, Katarina Budrak, Lana Rakočević, Anastasija Bogojević;
Libero – Melisa Cenović, Ksenija Krunić, Milica Veličković.
Montenegro secured their first round of qualifying with a solid 3:0 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina, while they managed to earn a crucial point on the road in Latvia despite a narrow 3:2 loss.
