The Cadets Outshine Croatia in Scoring Prowess
The cadet water polo team from Montenegro achieved its first victory at the European Championship held in Manisa, Turkey.
Following an initial defeat against Hungary (11:6), where they were at a disadvantage throughout, our athletes turned things around against Croatia, triumphing with a score of 15:13.
Within the first ten minutes of the match, Montenegro was ahead 6:1. Croatia, however, clawed back to 6:5 by the second quarter, and in the final period, they managed to equalize for the first time at 12:12.
The Montenegrin national team’s victory was clinched by Ivan Marković, who netted two goals in less than fifty seconds, while Danilo Stupar scored just 96 seconds before the end of the game.
Marković led the scoring with four goals, followed by Strahinja Gojković and Stupar with three each. Tadija Matijašević added two, and Radivoj Radanović, Srđan Janović, and Tim Perov each contributed one goal.
