Citizens have surrendered 3.660 weapons since the beginning of the year

Citizens Have Turned in 3,660 Weapons Since the Start of the Year

Since the start of the year, citizens have voluntarily handed in 3,660 weapons, 122,288 rounds of ammunition, 418 hand grenades, as well as several hundred weapon components and explosive devices, according to the Police Directorate’s announcement.

It was reported that over the last ten days, in municipalities throughout Montenegro, 25 weapons, 424 rounds of ammunition, ten hand grenades, two CS grenades (tear gas), and parts of weapons have been voluntarily surrendered.

“In Podgorica and Danilovgrad, citizens voluntarily surrendered seven weapons to the police, which included five pistols and two rifles, along with 31 rounds of ammunition,” the statement noted.

The police reported that in Bar, Ulcinj, Kotor, and Tivat, seven pistols, three rifles, 281 rounds of ammunition, one hand grenade, and weapon parts were voluntarily surrendered.

“In Bijelo Polje, Berane, Kolašin, Mojkovac, and Rožaje, seven weapons were voluntarily surrendered, comprising five pistols and two rifles, along with 28 rounds of ammunition of various types and calibers, four hand grenades, two CS grenades, and weapon parts,” the police stated.

A pistol, 84 rounds of ammunition, and five hand grenades were voluntarily surrendered in Nikšić, Plužine, and Pljevlja.

“We urge citizens to maintain a responsible and conscientious approach that reflects our collective concern for the community and contributes to a safer society,” the police emphasized.
