“I’m Showing Off My EuroBasket Ticket to the ‘Quasi-Experts'”
The Montenegrin basketball team is celebrating its fifth qualification for EuroBasket, with coach Boško Radović sending a message to the supporters and “quasi-experts”.
Although our team faced a defeat against Sweden in Stockholm tonight (86:83) after overtime, this loss didn’t derail their ambitions, as they finished the qualifiers in second place, following world champions Germany.
“Qualifying for EuroBasket is a significant achievement for our country and basketball. I want to express my gratitude to the dedicated and loyal fans who have stood by us. I also want to extend this ticket to the European Championship to those quasi-experts who think they know better than the team and coaching staff,” Radović stated. He continued:
“This qualifying window was incredibly challenging. We were missing many players, and some young talents took on bigger roles for the first time. Against Sweden, we only had one playmaker, and against Germany, we had none. Ultimately, the key takeaway is that we made it through—congratulations to everyone involved,” Radović emphasized.
Montenegro faced its share of challenges.
“I want to congratulate Sweden on their victory. The fans witnessed a thrilling game. We were in serious trouble and had an unusual lineup. We transitioned from a team that had played together for six years, knowing each other well, to one that is still getting acquainted. The highlight is that after a tough game against Germany, we came back strong with a solid performance, and ultimately, that one goal made all the difference,” concluded Radović.
