Manchester City secured a 3:1 victory against Bournemouth at home tonight in the 37th round of the Premier League, bringing them closer to Champions League qualification.
As the season approaches its conclusion, City currently sits in third place with 68 points, holding a two-point advantage over Newcastle, Chelsea, and Aston Villa, who are all tied for sixth place.
City struck first in the 14th minute with an outstanding goal from Omar Marmuš, netting it from approximately 30 meters, and Bernardo Silva extended their lead just before halftime.
The game took a turn for City midway through the second half when Kovačić received a red card, reducing their squad to ten men; however, the visitors also found themselves down a player shortly after, as Kuk was shown a red card.
Nico Gonzalez then pushed the score to 3:0, with Jebison providing the final goal of the match.
Kevin de Bruyne bid farewell to the home crowd tonight as he prepares to leave at the end of the season. Having joined City in 2015, he has achieved remarkable success and solidified his status as a club legend.
De Bruyne nearly left with a memorable goal, but in the 25th minute, he struck the crossbar from just five meters out.
This match at the Etihad also marked the return of Spanish international Rodri, who made his comeback eight months following a serious knee injury.
City’s final match of the season will be a visit to Fulham.
