Young Water Polo Team Falls in Quarterfinals
The cadet water polo team from Montenegro has successfully made it to the quarter-finals of the European Championship taking place in Manisa, Turkey.
Under the guidance of Miodrag Mirović, the team faced a tough defeat against Serbia in their semi-final match, with Serbia prevailing 15:9 after a dominant second half.
The game was tightly contested until the second minute of the third quarter, at which point the “dolphins” launched an unstoppable scoring spree against our team.
Serbia pulled ahead with a score of 12:7, maintaining a four-goal lead going into the final period, which lacked any thrilling moments.
For Montenegro, Srđan Janović, Strahinja Gojković, and Ivan Marković each scored twice, while Danilo Stupar, Ognjen Moračanin, and Tim Perov also contributed with goals.
Luka Gladović stood out for Serbia, netting four goals in the match.
Montenegro now looks ahead to the matches for the 5th to 8th positions, with their next opponent being the Netherlands, a match set for Sunday at 15:30.
In the semi-finals, Serbia will compete against Hungary, while Greece will face Spain.
