The Parliament’s session today has been suspended, with its continuation set for June 3rd. This pause will allow for behind-the-scenes negotiations concerning various appointments until a sense of calm is restored, stated Andrija Nikolić, the head of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) parliamentary group.

During a press conference following the session, he emphasized the importance of updating citizens on the reasons for this postponement.

“Today, we are once again witnessing the total breakdown of the system. Representative democracy is on hold. A scandal emerges today, only to be replaced by another tomorrow, and this cycle continues as scandals pile up while the majority tries to manage. The only thing holding them together are the chairs they occupy… The stock market remains open today and will be until June 3, when Spajić returns from Japan, at which point issues will be addressed based on ‘who will take which ministry?'” he noted.

Nikolić remarked that those who once fought against the DPS and denounced past practices are now embodying the very behaviors they once opposed.

“As Marcus Aurelius once said – comfort is the most harmful addiction. Until June 3rd, there will be negotiations behind closed doors regarding numerous appointments as we work towards restoring tranquility. We will take this time to keep the public informed on everything necessary,” he stated.

Nikolić mentioned that over time, the opposition’s potential for change would grow, while the majority’s support continues to strengthen.

When asked by a journalist from TV Vijesti whether he was certain or merely speculating about ongoing issues, Nikolić indicated that there was discontent among the majority regarding the “dividing of the cake.”

He acknowledged having some information but noted they would remain silent “until the truth is laid bare.”
