“Pioneers Outshine Croatia: Dreaming of Semi-Finals and World Cup Glory”
The Montenegrin women’s pioneering volleyball team triumphed over Croatia with a score of 3:2 (24:26, 27:25, 25:21, 23:25, 15:12) in a grueling match during the fourth round of the European Championship, lasting nearly two and a half hours.
This remarkable win marks the second victory for our talented squad in the group stage held in Pristina, further showcasing their immense potential.
Klara Đukić shone brightly with an impressive 27 points, sharing the spotlight with Croatia’s Ivezić as the most effective player of the match.
Additionally, three other players on our team joined the double-digit scoring ranks: Sofija Duletić contributed 17 points as a middle blocker, Elena Jovanović added one less, and Minja Mišević finished with 11 points.
By overcoming Croatia, Montenegro equalized with their rival and preserved their chances of advancing to the semifinals. This win also keeps them in contention for a spot at the World Championship, where the top six teams from the tournaments in Pristina and Tirana will compete.
In the fifth round, our skilled volleyball players are set to take on the Czech Republic, who will be playing Greece at 3 PM. This match is scheduled for 12:30 PM, and after a day’s rest, Montenegro will wrap up the group stage with matches against Turkey and Slovenia on Wednesday and Thursday.
